crime against humanity

spelling mistakes are very common allover the world.it is more so if the writing system is not having one to one correspondence between the letters and the sounds they represent to a great extent.we find one to one,one to many, many to one ,single to sequence and sequence to single correspondences at the word initial, word medial and word final positions.except one to one correspondence all the other types create problems for language users whether they are learners or teachers.if the irregularity is predictable it may overlooked. otherwise it is a serious matter.if the language is an international language it is a very serious thing as it involves the lives of a large number of people even if you take into account only the present generation.you can imagine the enormous waste of time ,energy and money involved in this case.strictly speaking spelling inconsistency is a crime against humanity.a systemic defect is forced upon language users by the status co maintaining groups.spelling reform is a boon to the humanity and that too earlier the better.as far as English is concerned a lot of work has been done in the last one hundred years.the simplified spelling society is going to celebrate its centenary in 2008.let us hope some thing concrete comes out for the benefit of billions of users of English in the years to come.let us fight against this crime against humanity i.e.spelling conundrum.
